West Yorkshire-based, Caldervale Technology Limited have announced the purchase of Fusion Equipment Limited from their parent company the Fusion Group.

Caldervale manufacture a range of tooling and equipment for installing plastic pipe systems. Primarily, Caldervale's core products are electrofusion control units, clamps and preparation tools for cleaning pipes before joining.

Caldervale Managing Director, Gordon Lilley stated: “We are delighted, but we have just got to crack on following the deal and make it work. It is a perfect synergy really to bring the two businesses together, as we complement one another in so many ways.”

The Fusion Group are valued by their customers as experts in multi-utility infrastructure products and services. They are recognised as a world leader in the manufacture of machines and tooling for polyethylene pipe jointing.

Fusion Equipment will retain their customer base and the business will be enhanced by the addition of Caldervale’s wide variety of products and brands. The change will not affect the career’s of the people currently employed at Fusion Equipment, as Lilley added: “We are keeping all of the staff that are there and we will not be letting anybody go. We are hoping to increase their machining capacity and give them even more work!”

Fusion Group Managing Director, Kevin Raine reflected on Caldervale's positive decision to retain staff, as he explained: “After talking to some of the staff in Fusion Equipment, I can tell you that there is more life in them and they have more belief that there is a future here for them. There is still a lot of hard work to do in developing new products but the team is definitely reinvigorated.”

Caldervale have no intention of moving the new business from its current home in Chesterfield. Although, they do intend to move Fusion Equipment less than 100 metres to a new production facility within the Fusion Group.

The move will certainly strengthen the business in the eyes of their customers, as Raine concluded: “Fusion Equipment now hope to build their own display area which will be very important when we’re bringing any customers from overseas. To be able to walk 100 metres away to see our new purpose built factory will show that we’ve still got a supply chain and that our new owners are investing in the business, so it is a perfect solution for us.”
